Shaykh Afeefuddin Al-Jailani





As-Sayyid As-Shaykh Afeefuddin Al Gaylani is the 18th direct descendant of Sultan Ul-Auliya (King of Saints) Shaykh Abdul Qadir Al-Gaylani Al-Hassani (may Allah sanctify his secrets) and is the 33rd direct descendant of Prophet Muhammad, salallahu alaihi wasallam.

The King of Saints, Shaykh Abdul Qadir Al-Gaylani, is a revered scholar of Islam and founder of the Tariqah Al-Qadriyah (Qadriyah Islamic Spiritual order).

Shaykh Afeefuddin is one of the current leaders of Tariqah Al-Qadriyah and specializes in Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence), Shariah (Islamic Laws) and Tasawwuf (Islamic Spirituality).  One of his great teachers is the current Mufti of Iraq, Maulana Shaykh Abdul Karim Al-Mudarris (often called Abdul Karim Bayarah).  Shaykh Afeefuddin Al-Gaylani has been certified as an Islamic Scholar by Shaykh Abdul Karim Al-Mudarris – with the credentials of Al-Ijazzah Al-Elmiyah which is an important certification for an Islamic scholar and teacher.  Shaykh Afeefuddin has also studied with many other Islamic scholars.


Shaykh Afeefuddin Al-Gaylani was born in Baghdad in 1972 and pursued his academic studies (primary, secondary and college) in Baghdad.  In college, Shaykh Afeefuddin specialised in Islam and Shariah.  He was the Imam and Khatib in several Mosques in Baghdad including the Mosque of Shaykh Abdul Qadir Al-Gaylani.  He also delivered frequent lectures in Iraq and many other countries.

Shaykh Afeefuddin Al-Gaylani has many mureeds (students/disciples) throughout the world who are seeking guidance and knowledge from him.  They are mainly from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, India, Iraq, Singapore and Malaysia.  Shaykh Afeefuddin Al-Gaylani is the Head of Darul Qadriyah International and the Chairman of  Al-Wariseen Trust and he has participated in many Humanity and Islamic seminars and conferences to explain about the beauty of Islam in the Middle East, Turkey, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Sri Lanka, United States, Indonesia, and others.
